Damascus looks pretty good in coed. Watched match vs Wootton Wednesday. Clearly someone at Damascus (boys or coach) made the decision to stack the coed team at the expense of the boys team. Looks like the club boys are mostly (all?) on coed. And the girls are good too. Wootton is decent too and has the capability to sting someone even though most of the boys are inexperienced.

That's pretty much how Damascus was last year. Although they didn't make it to the championship game, the boys were amazing hitters and the girls were not too shabby at defense.
I've heard in earlier years, the Damascus boys team was actually very decent. However, it seems like the transition of the boys players onto the coed team happened last year, leaving the boys team to weaken.

Oh yes #46 Michael Vu. Kill it down the 10ft line and lines hits all the time.

Also watched the Magruder vs Seneca Valley game. I saw these reviews about #46 aka Michael Vu. I wanted to see if these claims were true and I was not let down. He's very versatile in the front row; being able to hit outside, middle, and right side, with a huge majority of his hits being slammed on the court.
He's able to read hits decently and therefore is a very effective blocker. He frequently is able to penetrate the net and his vertical is pretty high.
His passing and assists are flawless. Overall, a smart player and definitely a player to watch.

Any standout players from any teams? Number 46 from Magruder Coed. Number 8 from Magruder Coed is also pretty decent. Although he only plays backrow, his passes are consistent and his serves are strong. #8's presence in the backrow is a major reason why Magruder Co-ed is 3-1 so far. Also, Damascus always have great players to watch out for.

For the coed season last year, #12 seed Watkins Mill beat #5 seed Northwest in the playoffs last year. There's a pretty big upset for ya!
Coed is great and works! Just look at Sherwood. How do they dominate Boys and Coed every year? If they can do it, other schools can do it too.

How do they dominate Boys and Coed every year? If they can do it, other schools can do it too. My comment in regards to upsets was that the top seeded teams almost never lose before the semis/finals because there really are only 1-2 teams every year that have a chance to win. In boys we've had a #4 seed win as recently as 2009 and every year there are at least 4-5 teams with a reasonable chance of winning. As for coed working, it would work much better if it didn't have to compete with boys volleyball at the same time (as would boys volleyball work much better without having to compete with coed). I think even coed supporters would agree if it's going to exist it would be much better with it's own season away from BOTH boys and girls.

I was very surprised to see Magruder Coed > Dmass Coed. I would like to know what went on if anyone has information about it.
