Lots of interesting matches this week as division play starts to finish up and we move closer to determining the MCPS county champions.
October 7th Blair vs. Sherwood: key division matchup for both teams. Einstein vs. Northwood: local rivalry game. Both teams have struggled this year. Chance for a win over a rival. RM vs. WJ: another division matchup, this one has some potential playoff seeding implications as well Clarksburg vs. Quince Orchard:
October 10th Wootton vs. Churchill: another big rivalry game with two major subplots: a key division matchup and potential playoff seeding impact Sherwood vs. Magruder: Sherwood's 2nd big match of the week. While no playoff seeding impact here, certainly a major impact on determining the division winer

Wootton was just too strong for a game Churchill team, winning in 3. Churchill played well in the first set, keeping it close until the end, where they missed a couple of critical serves. The remaining sets were not as competitive. Wootton served tough, is solid all around, and is capable of generating a lot of offense.
Wootton at NW next week will be a good matchup, although I believe that Wootton is a step above all of their 4A competitors.

And I am confident in saying, I bet Coach Scott Zanni was one of those 400. So Mr Zanni, could you give us a summary of the match? We know Magruder won but the cheap seats would like some insight as to how it went.

We won in 3 sets, 25-15, 25-11, 25-17.
