The 2008 season is less than a week away. Which players are among the tops at their positions in the county? Who are some of the players who have made a significant improvement to their game?

OH - Becky West (GCHS) returns with a great supporting cast.
Setter - Bridhid Casey (GCHS) will enjoy lots of hitter options (see above) as will Lee Geiser (BCC) and Jenny Better (PHS).
MH - Rosie Eck (BCC) will score against anyone if her setter can get a pass. She'll simply block anything close to the net regardless.
L/DS - Bianca Livioco (GHS). If they can get incoming frosh DS Mackenzie thingyerill on the court at the same time, the ball will have trouble finding the floor on their side of the net.

I hope this blog doesn't have a problem with MacKenzie thingyerill's last name. Might be one to watch as time goes on.

Apparently there is some type of editing software that proboards uses to edit out certain words. The end result is MacKenzie's changing of her last name by the software to "thingyerill".
Moving the conversation on....what other players are out there in Montgomery County to look for?

The problem is that some teams have good setters, but don't have good hitters, and viceversa, so in order to be a player to watch you must have "good company".....
Any players from Whitman or Quince Orchard? Last year they both had young teams with some talent, at least when we played againts them.

A couple more thoughts...
MH - Corrie Smoot (MHS) and Chelsea Glowacki (PHS). Sorry I missed them with the 1st list.

Following Fan's lead, a player who likely won't receive much publicity, but is a pretty good player is Emma Rutter from Rockville.

That brings to mind a couple other really good all-around players: OH - Kim VanLowe (WMHS) and Hunter Schallhorn (JHBHS)
