The 2008 season is less than a week away. Who will be the teams to watch this year?

Good Counsel will return tremendous players from last year and will be insanely deep.
Magruder lost a lot of talent but has that annoying habit of rebuilding successfully every year regardless. Great pipeline. I'm really looking forward to the GCHS/MHS rematch at MHS.
Poolesville was undefeated in the County last season and returns the majority of their talent.
BCC returns the majority of their talent and will rule the net if only they can survive the passing aspect of the game.
It'll be fun to see if Blake can repeat their success from last year but I don't know who they graduated.
Damascus and Gaithersburg will be in the mix if they can fill some holes to round out their otherwise talented teams.
Who'd I forget?

Good list Fan, but you missed Wootton. State finalists from last year with a solid JV team. There setter Jen Chen is an amazing athlete and will make them a real strong team.

The key players that Wootten graduated led me to think that this'll be a rebuilding year. However, I share Patriot Fan's assessment of Jen Chen and will be very happy if she leads her team to prove me wrong in that regard.

Sherwood is looking pretty good this year. We return quite a few players and have some new players who can play.

Keeping in mind that last year they were strong, this should be BCC year with 12 seniors on the roster....

I think the final BCC varsity roster for 2008 actually consists of 7 seniors. They have picked up some much needed passing with a freshman from California and a significantly improved Hannah Carretero. With 8 club players BCC should be competitive with the top schools in the County.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Damascus yet. I'm betting they will be pretty good even though they lost the best setter this county has seen in quite some time.
