The Richard Montgomery High School Asian American Club (RMHS AAC) is sponsoring a pre-season boys/co-ed volleyball tournament!
During the MCPS girls volleyball season, basically every varsity team has the opportunity to play in a competitive volleyball tournament. Our purpose for sponsoring this tournament is to give boys/co-ed teams in MCPS the same opportunity.
All schools are welcome to form both a boys and a co-ed team to compete. If you would like to participate, please contact your school's coordinator. The list of coordinators can be found here: docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0ArBDd1znas6MdHRKLXdmdHU4MktoRlRVRE9VQkJXNmc&hl=en_US
IF THERE IS NO COORDINATOR LISTED FOR YOUR SCHOOL AND YOU ARE WILLING TO COORDINATE, PLEASE EMAIL US AT aacvolleyball@gmail.com.
We will be charging a $200 registration fee per team, and ALL PROCEEDS WILL GO TO CHARITY! We will be selling tournament t-shirts and food at the playing site and we are also currently working on a lunch deal with local eateries. More details about the tournament/payment will be sent to your captain after he/she turns in the registration form.
ALL TEAMS MUST REGISTER BY NOVEMBER 31, 2011. LATE REGISTRATIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED UNLESS YOU HAVE BEEN TOLD OTHERWISE BY THE TOURNAMENT COMMITTEE.
As of currently, we will only be taking the first 16 boys and 16 coed teams to register. We may expand the number of teams allowed later, but for now, teams will be waitlisted if they are not one of the first 32 teams registered.
So please invite all your friends! Help us get the word out so we can make this as successful as possible!
COORDINATORS: Please download the registration form (https://docs.google.com/document/d/12R6sY2XYVdppjkK2ZtNFJjekGoZoRZFoHPifomxjhVw/edit?hl=en_US) and send it back to aacvolleyball@gmail.com with your high school and your division in the subject header (e.g. "Richard Montgomery - Boys"). To download, click on the "File" tab, go down to "Download As", and select the "Word" option.
NOTE: This tournament is geared towards boys and co-ed teams in MCPS, as the name would suggest. However, this tournament is out of season, so your high school coach is NOT allowed to participate. That does not mean that your high school coach cannot help set up the team, but it does mean that your high school coach cannot hold practices for the team and cannot coach your team at the tournament. For more details, please ask your high school coach for more details on out of season coaching.
