Does anyone else feels like the division isn't split evenly? For instance in Red division the only competition for Sherwood is Springbrook and with Springbrook it is hit or miss every season. In white Division Magruder took it all. Who did they beat to get division? Walkins Mill.... Clarksburg.... Then the next two division is pretty stacked with good opponents. Blair, WJ, Wheaton, and RM in blue division. Granted this year is the best I've ever seen Wheaton and WJ. And the last division with Rockville, Wooton, Kennedy, and Churchill. Wooton and Churchill have always been good with their CYC players and Kennedy has Wanda and Shang. Rockvilles been hit or miss. They have some really good years and some horrible years. Last time I remember Rockville being good they had Jake Woolry or something back in 2004. I really wish we could take out one of these teams from gold and blue and add it to red and white and give them some real competition for division.

Once again, the issue is coed volleyball. Boys and Coed records are tied together to set up divisions. Unfortunately there will probably be this issue for a long time to come.
Churchill is a surprise this year. I would have really though that they would be really good. They appear to have 8 club players. Are they playing coed? Do those players really choose to play coed over boys? Doesn't make sense. Damascus is another school that should be good but their club players appear to be playing coed as well. Shameful.2

Remember the divisions are created using the boys and coed records from each school. As such it's impossible to create even divisions for either sport.
To be fair, I'd also point out that even in sports where this doesn't occur, the divisions are rarely, if ever, truly even.

Hey Donkey 55 ... Magruder didn't win the Division by themselves. It's Magruder, Watkins Mill & Clarksburg. While Sherwood & Wootton have won their Divisions - the last Division is still being decided. The Divisions are done every 2 years (as Zanni as pointed out on several occasions) with cumulative records of Boys & Coed combined. It's impossible to create totally even brackets. It ALL gets squared away when the County Championships come around. Top 16 teams all play w/ the best team coming out on top. Soooo, instead of complaining about every aspect of the season ... give each school & their players due respect and enjoy the playoffs!!!

See czmplayer ... it's NOT as easy @ it sounds. Mr. Zanni made it sound simple w/ his final answer but I think he went thru the same things w/Clarksburg, Magruder & Watkins Mill. Congrats to all Division Champs so far! Anyone know when playoffs start? Should be some pretty good games! What i meant was since all three schools finished 4-1 and had a triangle of loss against each other the county declared a 3 way tie. I'de figure itde be something much more complicated like going deep down into sets or even scores (round robin). Not to look down upon coach zanni's job and high maintenance* of the boys volleyball program of course
