Sherwood beat rm in 3 but all gams were very close. Rm was not playing their best. A lot of the points came from errors on rm and not from anything amazing on sherwoods side. Would be a good rematch down the road.

Would be a good rematch down the road. I'm going to jump on my soapbox here for a minute...... I think this is one of the most common refrains I've heard in 20+ years of coaching volleyball. In my opinion it's also one of the most dangerous. Limiting errors is a major part of high school and club volleyball (and frankly some college teams). The "little things" that cause errors are directly linked to winning and losing and often aren't easily fixed. Sometimes a team has a bad night, but often when a team wins three straight close games it's because the winning team is simply a little more consistent with part of that consistency being slightly fewer errors.

So apparently wheaton and wootton both dropped a set to quince orchard... does anyone know the details? Is qo just that good or are wheaton and wootton just not as good of a team as i thought?

So apparently wheaton and wootton both dropped a set to quince orchard... does anyone know the details? Is qo just that good or are wheaton and wootton just not as good of a team as i thought? I think it's just as Coach Zanni has just stated. Little mistakes cause large consequences. Because they graduated many players from the previous season, both wheaton and wootton are probably playing newish players who are having they're first games, maybe ever. As such, they are more likely to make little errors that cost a set or two: net touches, double touches, missed serves, etc. Quince orchard on the other hand, has quite a bunch of veterans from what i see. Qo probably kept their composure throughout the game, and continued to fight on no matter what the score was. They probably just kept the ball in play and patiently waited for the opposing team to make their mistakes, until the best opportunity came to really kill the ball. I honestly think, wheaton and wootton should have swept qo, but again, little errors will make huge consequences. Even though I say that, I think qo can make a decent amount of noise post season if they continue to hold themselves together and stay confident.
