That's a great idea, but what about coed? Shouldn't they have one as well? It wouldn't be fair to the guys on coed who won't be considered simply because they are on coed and not on boys'...They'd be missing out, especially if they are actually at that "all star" level of play.

Ive seen some crazy good boys play on coed this year. We could have them join the boys, or we could continue the tradition with a coed game before/after the boys all star game! omg or we could have like last year's all stars come back and play against this year's all stars or have like alumni come back! Then we can see Mr. Zanni kill some people! haha

I would love to donate small sums of cash to charity if it would get us boys all-star and coed all-star games.

Speaking from some experience, all-star games are great events, but a TON of time to organize. It isn't as simple as saying, "lets have an all-star game" and poof one happens. A well run game has to find gym space, procure reasonable accident insurance for all participants, organize a selection committee, figure out how to pay for the expenses (insurance, gym time, officials, etc.). That's before even deciding what group of coaches determines the players selected, the process used to pick the players (one from each team, the best players, etc.). It's hours of work that frankly most people don't realize takes place.
So it's a great idea, but one that would take a group of coaches to coordinate. Additionally, only seniors are eligible to play in all-star games, underclassmen may not. Additionally, since boys/coed are separate varsity sports, MCPS likely would prefer that boys from the two sports not play in the same all-star game.
All of that said, it wouldn't surprise me to see a boys all-star game next spring. There was some discussion about holding one this year, but I think the coaches involved decided they needed more planning/prep time to hold one (see above).

Blair is in major rebuilding mode. Definitely good enough to make the playoffs, but they're no threat to upset any top teams

Wootton is the worst team among the top 4(my top four being clarksburg, wootton, sherwood, and RM). I just believe that RM and sherwood were too frightened by Paul

Just curious what does everyone think the best players in their respective positions are?(like best setter outsides etc.)

Right side- Clarksburg's and Wootton's (Paul)
Middle- personally, have not seen any stand-out middles, maybe Magruder's or Clarksburg's?
Outside- Sherwood's #7 (I might be wrong on the number), Magruder's #17, RM's (cant remember the number), Wheaton (?)
Setter- clarksburg's, magruder's, sherwood's
Libero- wootton's,
RM's defense is also strong, along with BCC, Clarksburg, and Wheaton.
It's a shame I haven't come out to many games this season, but this is a rough analysis on trying to remember players from some of the top teams. I understand I'm missing players but this is from what I've heard/seen.

there are a lot more good players this 2014 season. A lot of the boys have stepped up to their graduated seniors and filled their spots. It's going to be an exciting playoff season!

Not wanting to count out wootton yet, I'm curious, does anyone know how strong their new setter is, Justin fowler left big shows to fill, and how well we can set Paul I believe will determine how far they will go
